One Special Thurday

Alright, so what have i done today?

I signed up for the SIGN mentoring program. It's basically a program to become mentor to new uni students to guide them and help them.

So we had this training session this morning until 1.30pm.

Woke up at 7am. Found it a bit hard to wake up early nowadays and i think i am becoming lazier and lazier.

Hmm, i was like walking along, on the street, finding the Headley Bull Centre. I haven't been to the other side of the uni and is always just on the side where i usually have my lectures, tutorials and stuff. On my way to that dunno-where-building, saw LB.

I thought she went back to Malaysia already. Was quite surprised seeing her there. So we have had quite a hard time finding the way to that dunno-where-building.

The meeting starts at 9am but we reached there like around 8.30am. Of course, we were the first to arrive.

The whole session was actually good as in i learnt a lot of new stuffs. Meeting new people, where they are actually quite sociable. (loads of china people and Malaysians as well as Singaporean. Of course there were also some Australians and Hong Kong people)

The most beneficial thing that i found out from the session was those service that i will never know if i didn't attend the training session. In addition, i get the chance to talk to those people who are in the same course as me, but we just didn't/ never talked. It just feels so good.

Decided to go sailing. Failure to check the weather forecast caused me big trouble.

Alright. You might be asking me. What happened?

So i went sailing very happily. And got so carried away that i actually went a bit further, and wanted to come back. I got stuck in the branches! And the vang got off! It got hooked by the branches and it went missing... I was wondering whether i will be able to go back without it. But it was actually not that bad. And i managed to go back.

So I asked my friend whether she would mind to just give me lift so that I will be able to get the place where i lost the vang. The algae level was too high, the lake was all green, didn't find it as expected.

Then we went to sail together for a while. The laser capsize again. Capsize and capsize and capsize. Until the cap covering and holding the mask WENT OFF!!!

That's the worst thing ever happened. The whole sail went half way down. How are we suppose to sail with half the sail down. My friend said it was okay. So we turned down the man who was trying to help....

The sail went off, we couldn't go back, then it capsized AGAIN. Now the whole mask went off and the boom as well. Oh NO!!!!

WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LAKE. (obviously these are not us lar. Sth like that)

We were trying to seek help, nobody heard us.

We then tried to swim and get the boat to the nearest shore. Luckily it worked but it just took us some time. So cold and wet.

Now, the saviour comes. We saw Andrew. I actually didn't see him. Wing did. So we get a ride from him back to the shed and get changed. Poor new car, got so messy because of us. Felt so bad. He was there to get the life jacket for a regatta. We are lucky.

So Andrew had to call Tony to actually come to get the laser back to the shed. He was there and because of the trouble we created, he had to come again.

I personally felt very bad. Should have checked the weather beforehand.

Well, it was loads of experience. In fact, a little bit too much.

However, we did learn a lot (way too much). Hope that the missing vang will be fixed soon.

When i first thought of it, i felt scared. Now when i think of it, I feel happy because it happened.

Now, i am happy.
